I lived in Empire Uptown from March 2011-November 2012. The apartments are furnished with the cheapest possible materials, the windows are painted shut, the walls leak, and the massive drafts running through will cost you hundreds of dollars per year extra on heating and cooling. Also, when you move out, expect that you'll need to go to court to get your security deposit back, even when they sign a paper stating that you will be receiving it. I cannot vouch for materials used between different places, but if for the security deposit issue alone I would highly recommend not renting from Thayer Properties.
