We relocated to S.C. for new employment and rented from Litchfield Oaks as a transitional status between homes. When we broke our lease we accepted and paid the lease break fee of $1,200.00, but did not realize they would forfeit our deposit of $300.00 and then try to pull a fast one on us by stating the thirty day notice to vacate had to be thirty "calendar" days. (You can find that language in fine print on page 14 of your lease agreement. ) Needless to say we are still fighting with them over paying 24 days rent on an apartment we did not possess. They won't negotiate though, they just send you to collections.
