I have rented several apartments before – but never have I come across a situation like this. The sales associate (PG) sent me the rental application on Saturday afternoon while clearly stating that she would be able to hold the apartment once she heard back from me; their office was closed on Sunday; I brought the completed application w/ the check promptly on Monday – and she nonchalantly tells me that she has already rented out the apartment.In her email, she wanted me to “let her know” so that she could hold the apartment for me; and accordingly I did email her back right away. I am not sure what other assurance she wanted.
Furthermore, even on Monday she went over my application and enquired regarding my salary documents and only towards the end did she actually say that the apartment was no longer available. If she knew that a decision was made to go w/ another client on Saturday itself (that’s what she said finally) – she at least should have had the courtesy to inform me and that would have spared me the hour and half trip to her office.
I sent a follow up email to her and the community manager – but they didn’t even care to reply back. The apartments seem to have good amenities and are at a good location – but if this is the quality of the management there – I’d rather NOT deal w/ such incompetent and unprofessional people at all!!
