The cleanliness and respect given to shared living spaces (hallways, lobbies, amenities) is the best I've seen in Seattle. I have friends living in more expensive/"luxury" buildings in the area, and attention to detail/cleanliness is much better at Valdok.

The office tends to ignore emails they donât want to answer, and communicate only about items that are important to them. The overall feeling of living here is run like a company, not a community.

How can I recommend a place with rent hikes like this? It's greedy and makes any efforts at community building just lip service.

Leasing office is very hard to get ahold of and often times your emails to them will just get complexity ignored.

Management is rude, disrespectful, and dishonest. This experience is validated by many other residents who have lived here. There seems to be no accountability to this behavior either. I cannot recommend that to anyone. It's also well known that management seems to be charging excessively for move-out expenses (especially painting). Residents are now afraid of what will happen when they move out.

I would NEVER recommend this community to anyone. From break ins to the bike room, garage, no amenities and hearing the above neighbors as if I have a roommate and I live by myself.

Security is the biggest reason I would not recommend Valdok otherwise it's a great place.

Units are poorly insulated. I can hear everything going on in the apartments on both sides as well as below. I can also consistently hear people on the roof. There is also a consistent smell of marijuana coming from numerous other units, filling the hallway and even leaking into my apartment through the ceiling fan and walls in closet.

Expensive. Security can be iffy at times. Outside doors malfunction often. Cleanliness of general areas not always good. I know that tenants often may not care but it is sad to see general areas in bad shape. The outside sidewalks and areas should be cleaner.
